I just realized that all I have been doing in my journals lately is complaining. I guess that's because I use the journal as a way to vent to folks without actually having a face-to-face. I will keep my complaints to a minimum today for all of you (potentially) reading it. In fact, if you're reading this journal, vent something in the comments so I know who reads my journals. Maybe it'll make you feel better
. Oh, about this journal, I just have a lot of random things to say and to talk about, so bear with me. (Is that the correct spelling for "bear?" Should it be "bare?" Or something different?)
Okay, y'all, let's get started. So, as I've talked about before in my journals, my sign language class was practicing for our performance of Grease. Guess what? We did it! We had our final performance at our district's HUGE performing arts center last Monday. I was kind of sad because only a handful of my friends came to see it, but we had at least 120 people there. It cost $5 to get in, so that's a good profit. We were all so nervous right before it started. I couldn't handle it. There were a couple of other things that I couldn't handle that night too, but I won't get into detail about all that. The play was going smoothly until right before Greased Lightning. The guys were ready on one side of the stage, and we knew the girls took longer to change because they go from poodle skirts to leather jackets and leggings, so we waited....and waited and waited. It turns out that because both of us were wearing black, we couldn't see each other from across the stage. Finally, I just, through clenched teeth, told our stage manager to tell them to turn on the lights. After those came on, we could see that both of us were lined up and waiting on the other. . . . . . . . .shakin' my head. But everything went smoothly after that. It was exciting, and I'm sad it's over now D:
I want to get back into posting stuff on here. If you've read this far, it's likely you already know that most of the things I post on here are some sort of Pokemon sprite. You also probably know that I don't do so well at any traditional art (like drawing and painting), so what can I post? I can write decently, in my opinion at least. And some of my teachers' opinions. While you're venting in the comments, why not give me a suggestion or two of what you'd like to see from me. I will try to do any requests as quickly as I possible can, but senior year is one huge, huge pile of homework and extracurricular activities!
Speaking of extracurricular activities, my activities, as of recently, are loving to have conflicting schedules. Like, in two weeks, the band will be marching a "parade" before the district's second annual Toys for Tots convention. That's cool, but my sign language class is also signing some Christmas carols at the same convention. I've had to get permission from my director to be allowed to change and then stay there to perform. I'm vice president of the ASL Club, so it's kind of required that I show up for that!
Well, it's December, and you know what that means, right? For one, it means Christmas! I love the holiday season! I get to make people smile with my gag gifts. This year, I feel like my real friends are all in ASL: Ashely, who so kindly let's me ride with her to Ben Barber, Kat, who played Sandy in Grease, Claudia, who is Claudia, and Evan, the other half of my bromance and who played Danny. Because Ashely does me a favor everyday, I am getting her a serious gift: a coffee mug filled with candy and a Starbucks gift card. One day, Kat complained that she wished she had one pen, so Evan and I decided to both get her one pen each, so then she can have two
pens. Fancy! All of my sources indicate that I should get Claudia something really girly, so I have this "sock cupcake" which is just a funky sock rolled up into some multicolored paper...basically. She like's weird socks, I think. For Evan, I asked him and his gf what I should do. Can you believe that both of them answered with, "a ring." I will gladly find one for him! Luckily, I even have a reference to what size to get: he occasionally puts on my class ring, and it's much too big for his finger, so if the ring I find is too big for me, it'll be hugemungous for him. I can't wait to see their faces
December also means that all the super cool end of the year remixes are coming out. I've listened to quite a few of them recently, and I've decided that DJ Earworm's is my favorite. It's called Living the Fantasy. You can find it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGRQKK…
I recommend that you check it out! I'm just sad that Gaga's Applause didn't get any vocal time, just background music :c.
I honestly think that I've covered everything that I had on my mind except one thing. We are reading Frankenstein in English, and I just want to recommend that you read it if you haven't had the opportunity to. It's really good. I'm about to finish it after I conclude the journal.
I guess I'll go ahead and conclude the journal then. Remember the things you should post in the comments? Do it! Please c: I'll leave you with that. Have a great weekend, and if you live in North Texas with me, stay warm and safe. Don't go outside, you will freeze to death!!!!!
