YES I did redo a lot of this, my most popular piece overall with, at this moment in time, 53 comments, 36 favorites, 2,256 views (with 12 today! WTF, this is an old piece!!), and 1,493 downloads (with 6 today! Okay for serious, why would someone download this. Are 1,493 people pirating my artwork? But seriously! Why did 6 people download it today? This has been up since January 2012! That was over a year ago!!!!! Okay, done) If you want to see the "vintage" version of this, check it out here: [link]

This is freaking proof that Mew is not the ancestor of all pokemon!!!

Okay, the first one is the first cell; a cell of Magikarp! Descended directly from it is Solosis. More indirectly are all round pokemon. The cell hardened up when a colony was separated from the rest and had to survive in harsher territory, so they became hard as rock and steel.
The second is where Magikarp's dragon DNA comes from. Relicanth stems directly from this guy. He's a fossilized form of Dragon-Magikarp. Nearly all dragon type pokemon are indirectly stemmed from Dragpn-Magikarp. (Edit: I changed his whole look, adding a tail so he looks more like a dragon-esque sea serpent. Doesn't look ratchety!)
The third is the modern day Magikarp and the only one up there that isn't extinct. Directly from it are Carvanah and Feebas. Less directly are all other fish pokemon.
The fourth is the missing link between water dwellers and land dwellers. (Edit: I changed his head thing so it doesn't look so nastily splicy!)
To the right is the ancestor of most Dinos, Slugs, Salamanders and not up there, Hippos and Rhinos. (Edit: I completely redid him. Now he's more or less a slug or wormish creature. You can see a in depth creation of this specific one here: [link] )
In the center is the ancestor of most Birds/Bats, Bugs, and most pokemon that walk on two legs. This is arguably the most important link. (Edit: I made him not looks so much like Gligar and made his look more like he's standing on two legs with his arms looking like a cross between hands and feet.)
To the left and the last link is the ancestor of most modern Cats, Dogs, Foxes and hooved pokemon such as horses and deer. (Edit: To tell the truth, I was tired when I redid him, so I just changed his ears.)
